Verily all praise is for Allah, we praise and thank Him and seek His aid. Whosoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whosoever Allah misguides, there is none to guide. I testify that there is not worthy of worship except Allah, Who has no partners and that Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) is His slave and messenger.

About Us

In response to the lack of da’wah in our local communities, it was decided that instead of waiting for others to organise events and activities for us, we would do it ourselves and therefore Deen was born!

Currently we have two branches of Deen, one based in Doncaster and the other in Leeds. Both branches are closely linked with the same principles, aims and objectives, but will serve the needs of their respective communities.

Mission Statement

To bring about a greater awareness of Islamic beliefs and values, and the development of an Islamic identity through; education and greater participation in society.

The primary aims of Deen are:

  • To provide social, educational and religious activities for the community;
  • To bring about a greater awareness of Islamic ideals and values;
  • To encourage the development of a Muslims identity;
  • To provide opportunities that encourages Muslims to play a greater role in their society and empowering them to make a difference;
  • Raising awareness of issues that the Muslim community are facing.

‘Deen – a way of life…’

Allah says in the Qur’an:

This day, I have perfected your religion (deen) for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion (deen). [al-Ma’idah, 5:3]

When this ayah was revealed Umar b. al-Khattab (the companion of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) and the second khalifah) cried. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) asked, ‘What makes you cry?’ To which Umar replied, ‘What made me cry is that our religion is being perfected for us. Now it is perfect, nothing is perfect, but it is bound to deteriorate.’ The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) said, ‘You have said the truth’ [Tafsir ibn Kathir]

This is exactly what we see today, a deterioration of Islam with its true message and meaning being lost. That is why we will, bi’idhnillah (by the permission of Allah) set about to restore the Islamic message in our community and re-establish the deen. To get Islam back into our lives, so that it no longer takes a back seat, rather it is at the forefront of all that we do. So we’re not just proclaiming Islam by our names, we’re living Islam through our actions!

We ask Allah to make our intentions sincere, aid us and grant us success.
