As promised here are a list of resources, memorisation aids, links and anything else that will be useful to you for the challenge. This post will be updated, so check back regularly.

Keep track of your progress

Weekly Progress Sheet – Each of you received one Weekly Progress Sheet in you memorisation packs, you will need to download more as the weeks go on. Remember to fill out your sheets daily!

Surah Memorisation Sheet – Keep a track of how many surahs you have memorised with this sheet.

QuraanoMeter – a great way to keep track of how much of the Qur’an you have memorised.

Qur’an Software/Websites

Zekr – A downloadable Qur’an software, that enables you to listen to individual verses. A perfect aid in memorisation.

Quran Reciter – Another great program to help you memorise. Listen to the surah as a whole, or choose specific ayahs that you are learning.

Qur’an Viewer – Download and use to view the mus-haf on-screen. Once downloaded no need for Internet connection.

Qur’an Explorer – Listen to the Quran Recitation and Translation online in Arabic, English, and Urdu.

Qur’an Flash – View the mus-haf online.


IslamWay Qur’an Recitation Database – A massive collection Qur’an recitation for you to downlaod and listen to.

Aswat al-Islam – Another Qur’an recitation database.

Recommended Qaris to listen to include: Shaykh Hudhaifi, Shaykh Basfar, Shaykh Husari and Shaykh Menshawi.

Qur’an for All – Dr Farhat Hashmi – Check out the audio section

Learn Tajwid

Makharij – A flash programme showing you the makharij (the points of articulation) of each letter.

The Arabic Alphabet Sheets – Learn the correct pronunciation of the Arabic Alphabet.

Rules of Tajwid Booklet – Booklet explaining the rules of tajwid in a simple way [Coming Soon].

Tajweed in English – A brilliant website full of resources to aid you in learning tajwid, including downloadable tajwid lessons.
